Nor the Moon by Night (2014) Synopsis :

NOR THE MOON BY NIGHT

Dorothy Zeller is a courageous and independently spirited woman who lives an idyllic life on an isolated South Pacific island with her devoted husband, Daniel. They own the successful Double D Kauri Timber Company which transports regular shipments of kauri to Australia and New Zealand by freighter. One of their closest friends is the local priest, Father Donnelly, an extremely proud and religious man who has brought God to an uneducated island people. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, America moves more troops into the South Pacific in an attempt to stop the advance of Japanese warships. Dorothy has taken on the task of a coast watcher and has been advised by Admiral William Bull Halsey she is at great risk broadcasting troop movements from her island home and must find a safer haven. A ship arrives with orders to evacuate only the white population. A riot breaks out between the Islanders and the Chinese as they attempt to escape on board the ship.
